H. Gene Lockaby
VP Sales and Marketing
Industrial Environmental Systems
Gene holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from NC State University in Raleigh, NC. Following graduation and six months active duty for training in the US Army Reserves, he accepted a position with Westinghouse Electric Corp. in their Utility Marketing group. The application of technical solutions to customer needs was the attraction, but the passion for providing solutions to environmental issues became the mission.
Gene left Westinghouse in 1975 and joined Warren Engineering, Inc. This Atlanta, GA, rep firm providing emission control solutions to regional clients was looking to expand into the Carolinas. Over the next ten years Gene was directly involved with owners, contractors and consultants in both Carolinas, providing emission control and outlet package equipment and systems.
In 1985 Gene founded his own firm, Spectrum Engineering, Inc., which later merged with Carolinas Combustion Resources, Inc. CCR-Spectrum, LLC, now provides environmental equipment and systems in the Carolinas, Georgia, and Eastern Tennessee.
With the establishment of IES in 2001 came an opportunity to join old friends Steve and Chuck Reid in a real hands-on venture in the area of providing stack and ductwork systems and engineering. Gene’s role at IES has grown with the growth of IES, from that of a regional representative, to nationwide sales and marketing duties, along with specific engineering assignments and projects. This has allowed IES and its customers to benefit from his 35-plus years of experience in providing environmental and stack/duct solutions.
Gene is a registered PE in North Carolina and is a member of numerous professional associations.
